BUENOS AIRES: Inflation expectations in Argentina for 2017 fell slightly to 21.0 percent from 21.2 percent a month earlier, a central bank poll of economists showed on Wednesday, still well above the 17 percent upper band of the bank’s target. Latin America’s No. 3 economy is seen growing 2.7 percent in 2017, according to the poll, a tick slower than the 2.8 percent estimated in the bank’s previous survey. Gross domestic product was seen expanding 3.0 next year, down from 3.2 percent a month earlier.

Argentine President Mauricio Macri is hoping to show the fruits of a radical policy change from his leftist predecessor before the October mid-term election, which will help determine whether his open market reform agenda continues.
