ARIZONA: The Arizona Department of Transportation announced the official end of the $11 million project “It’s wonderful, very beautiful, a drastic change from what we had before,” were the words of vice mayor Matias Rosales, describing the outcome of the project to improve the streets of San Luis, which recently ended after eight months of work.
”I was very impressed it looks very clean, and is something that was sorely missed in San Luis,” said Rosales. The project involved not only resources and ADOT work, but also the Federal Highway Administration, Yuma County and the City Council of San Luis.
Main Street previously served as the route for motorists traveling to and from Mexico. The ADOT project rerouted Mexico bound traffic along Archibald Street, while vehicles arriving from Mexico now enter San Luis on 1st Street.
