YEREVAN: Customs officials of Republic of Armenia have discovered largest amount of illegal drugs in the specially fitted hiding place in a truck which was en route to Georgia from Iran through the territory of Armenia.
As a result of checking the truck meant for transit trade between Iran and Georgia, 927 kg of heroin was found. Customs officials say that such a huge quantity of drugs is found in the region for the first time.
The driver of the truck was arrested. It was informed by the press centre of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia that a criminal case has been aroused in Investigation Department of National Security Service. Search operations are being carried out towards discovering other people related to the crime.
