TOKYO: Asian stock markets rose on Wednesday as oil prices slipped further which benefited them.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 stock average increased by 0.2 percent at 14,971.79 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng increased 0.7 percent to 23,205.38. China’s Shanghai Composite value increased 0.4 percent to 2,369.76 and Seoul’s Kospi was little changed at 1,928.08. Markets in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand were also up due to falling oil prices.
