Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the minister said that only the areas where bill recovery is low are facing more loadshedding than the scheduled hours and it is also because of electricity theft.

Minister of State for Water and Power Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali, Sindh Minister for Finance Syed Murad Ali Shah and Chinese Company CSCEC Chairman Lu Chun and the Consul General of China in Karachi were also present on the occasion.

Khawaja Asif said the energy crisis had become a big challenge for the government and this had happened because of poor planning in the past. There was no short-cuts and “we are working on a multi-dimensional strategy” to solve the problem. The minister said that 49.5MW wind mill project and the turbine manufacturing facility commissioned by the Chinese company was a milestone in the energy sector.
