Asif Marghoob directs subordinates to detect malpractice in customs clearance

KARACHI: Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (anti-smuggling) Director Asif Marghoob has directed his staff members to detect malpractices during the process of customs clearance.

Addressing a meeting, Marghoob told officials to launch crackdown against the non-duty paid vehicles. The meeting was attended by the Additional Director Farrukh Sajjad, Deputy Directors Muhammad Azam Khan and Sadia Sadaf.

The director appreciated the efforts of the anti-smuggling staff for impounding non-duty paid vehicles and contraband items, including foreign cigarettes, tyres and tubes etc.

He further laid stressed on beefing up vigilance in Sukkur and Hyderabad check posts to achieve better results.

During the meeting, the authorities concerned apprised the director of recent action taken by the officials of anti-smuggling to bust the smuggling bids

Concluding the meeting, the director asked officials to ensure speedy preparation of the contravention reports so that the legal process against the culprits could be initiated and the cases would be disposed of soon.
