Asif Mian joins Pakistan Customs after his deputation

LAHORE: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Assistant Director Asif Ali Mian has rejoined the Customs Department after completing his three-year deputation in the agency.

Asif ali Mian was looking after Customs related matter in the FIA and brought a number of high profile cases in the limelight.

In 2014, he unearthed mega scam in which 76 customs officials had allegedly cleared raw material for veterinary medicines for a pharmaceutical company at Karachi Port without getting prior permission from the Federal Drug Department.

The FIA investigators had calculated initial loss of Rs 50 million to the national exchequer due to the illegal act. Asif Ali Mian will serve Customs as superintendent in Islamabad.

Talking to Customs Today, he that after his joining in Islamabad, the department will decide as to which department of Customs he will be posted afterward.
