Asif Zardari & others are not entitled for any relief, NAB informs SHC

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) directed counsels for Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur and others to file their rejoinder for April 02, 2019 on criminal review appeals filed by Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur, Anwar Majeed, A G Majeed, Hussain Lawai and Taha Raha against banking order verdict transferring money laundering case from banking court Karachi to Islamabad NAB Court.

March 26, 2019, NAB prosecutor submitted comments which got exclusively by ‘’Customs Today” and argued that no misreading and non-reading of the judgment dated Jan 01, 2019 passed by Supreme Court of Pakistan and Supreme Court has specifically issued directions in para 37 of the said in respect of transfer of all material and evidences collected by JIT to the NAB immediately.

NAB prosecutor further stated in his comments that SC directed the JIT to associate with the NAB for the purposes of assisting gin any further probe, inquiry or investigation that NAB may consider necessary or appropriate in order to satisfy itself about the fulfillment of legal and procedural requirement and to complete the investigation in its entirety.

He argued that NAB was directed that if considers expedient and appropriate to conduct any further or additional probe, inquiry or investigation involving the matters, which are the subject matter of the JIT, from a point of view of determining the true fact, it shall be free to do so at Islamabad.

In comments, NAB officials further stated that the impugned order dated March 13, 2019 of special banking court is not liable to intervened by this court as the same was passed by the special court under the guidelines & direction of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

NAB pleaded the court that in view of the above facts and circumstances of the case, it is respectfully prayed that the applicants are not entitled for any relief so claimed and applications merits dismissal in the interest of justice. After the hearing, court directed counsels for applicants to file their rejoinder for April 02, 2019.
