ASO car cell impounds Rs10m non customs paid vehicles

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive car cell impounded non-customs paid luxury cars worth Rs10 million during the month of July.

Thd ASO Car Cell impounded the three vehicles of Toyota brand including Vego from various places in the city. The ASO sources said that the cars have been confiscated due to non-payment of duty and taxes on the vehicles.

Sources further told that Deputy Director Naveedur Rehman Bughvi received credible information about some non-customs paid vehicles which were being driven on various locations. Sources told that these vehicles were impounded from Johar Town, Muslims Town, Liberty and other locations of the city. The vehicles were seized in order to create deterrence against the rising smuggling activities.

They added that the vehicles have been sent for their laboratory tests. It was also said that investigation is also underway following the registration of the case.
