ASO collects revenue of Rs.211.369m during 1H of FY2016-17

ISLAMABAD: Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) collected revenue of Rs.211.369 million from July to December of financial year 2016-17. ASO seized smuggled goods, non duty paid and offending vehicles during the above said period.

Deputy Collector Shahid Jan told Customs Today that under direction of Collector Dr. Arslan, the ASO operations against smugglers and tax evaders resulted as successful generation of handsome revenue.

The deputy collector said that during the above-mentioned period, the ASO collected revenue of Rs.1.014 million by seizing 366 smuggled tyres and tubes, along with Rs.2.765 million from non-duty paid auto spare parts in quantity of 10402 kilograms and Rs.0.043 million by confiscating 260 liters of foreign-origin mobil oil and cigarettes.

He further said that the ASO seized foreign-origin fabric worth Rs.39.25 million, 79 non duty paid vehicles of Rs. 108.94 million, 78 offending vehicles, 2433 kilogram foreign origin black tea worth Rs.7.51 million, 65879 kilogram food grains worth Rs.0.703 million and various goods worth Rs.12.530 million during this period.

He added that the ASO confiscated non-duty paid electronic items worth Rs.32.56 million, 41400 pirated CD/DVDs worth Rs.0.823 million, 287 smuggled blankets worth Rs.0.234 million, foreign-origin medicines worth Rs.0.403 million and smuggled crockery worth Rs.0.071 million.
