ASO confiscates non duty paid Butyle Acrylate iron

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized 28800 kilograms of foreign origin Butyle Acrylate iron along with Hino truck involving customs duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 1150000.

Sources told Customs Today, that an ASO team impounded a Hino truck bearing registration no: FDZ-8976 near Maulana More Jhang and recovered foreign origin Acrylate (160 drums in weight 28800 kilograms made in Malaysia. The ASO team asked the accused named Sajid to show documents regarding its legal import but he failed to provide any relevant documents.

After his failure customs authorities seized the truck loaded with Acrylate iron drums under Section 168 of Import and Export Control Act 1950 punishable under Section 156 (1) 90 (i) of the Customs Act, 1969.

The ASO team, comprising Superintendent Tanveer Raza Naqvi, Inspector Waqas Ali, Faizi Raza, and Sepoy Afzaal Hussain, Liaqat ali, Muhammad Naeem and other were part of the raiding team. Customs ASO forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further proceedings.
