ASO confiscates various kinds of contraband items during 13th to 20th of November

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization Islamabad seized worth Rs16.46millions of smuggling goods during 13th to 20th of November Fiscal Year 2017-18.

According to details explained by Assistant Collector, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad, that ASO Islamabad showed satisfactory performance during above said period. The ASO also took into possession five vehicles valued at Rs11.06million.
The smuggling items impounded include 1,514 yards of foreign origin fabric priced at Rs0.82million, 34,200 kilogram of food grains worth Rs2.08million, 315 kilogram of foreign origin tea valued at Rs0.10million, 200 pieces of auto-parts worth Rs0.022million.
Assistant Collector ASO told CT that, during 13th to 20th of November, the ASO Islamabad confiscated other various smuggling goods priced at Rs1.827million.

During 1st July to 15th of November 2017-18, the ASO performed well as it took into possession 78 offending vehicles (vehicles used for carrying smuggling goods) worth Rs85.67million during various operations.
Majid Hussain Gadd said the Customs Car Cell of the ASO impounded 17 Non-Duty-Paid (NDP) vehicles from different locations under the jurisdiction of the MCC Islamabad. The impounded vehicles value at Rs80.66million. Several FIRs have also been registered against the possessors of the NDP vehicles under the Customs Act-1969.
He further told CT that, during 1st Quarter FY17-18, the ASO impounded 56 vehicles priced at Rs66.76million. During 1st-Q, the ASO took into possession 47 offending vehicles valued at Rs51.90million whereas the Car Cell of the ASO impounded nine NDP vehicles worth Rs14.86million.
