ASO earns Rs57m extra revenue during month of May

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) earned Rs.57 million extra revenue during the month of May against same period of FY16-17. The ASO seized huge quantity of NDP, offending vehicles along with smuggled goods.

Sources of Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) told Customs Today that under guidance of Collector Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary and Additional Collector Muhammad Ishfaque, the ASO showed outstanding performance against notorious elements involved in smuggling activities.

Sources said during month of May, Customs ASO team comprising Assistant Collector Majid Hussain Gaad, Superintendent Malak Abid Hussain and Superintendent Farrukh Satti seized 234 kilograms of narcotics along with goods and vehicles worth Rs.84 million against Rs 27 million mark in same period last year.

Sources said that during first week of May, the ASO seized Rs 5.26 million worth of goods and vehicles while it seized goods and vehicles worth Rs 12.19 million during second week whereas the ASO seized Rs 19.08 million of foreign origin smuggled goods during third week of May as well as the ASO seized Rs 35.9 million during last week of May.
