ASO earns Rs211.369m during Shahid Jan’s posting as DC Preventive

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Collector Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad Shahid Jan has been transferred to Air Freight Unit (AFU) Islamabad on the same designation. In place of his seat at the Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad, Deputy Collector AFU Ansar Anees’s transfer orders have been notified for the charge of DC Headquarter.

According to the document provided to Customs Today, Shahid Jan will take charge of the AFU (Import, AFU Admin, Appraisement, BG Cell, DTRE,TP, Licensing and Recovery) whereas DC Ansar Anees will take charge of the HQ office, Preventive Division, Investigation and Prosecution and AIB (HQ).

The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad has earned Rs.211.369 million during Shahid Jan’s service as DC Preventive from (July to December) of Financial Year (FY) 2016-17.

During the above said period, the ASO seized various smuggled goods under the value of Rs12.530 million. The ASO also collected revenue of Rs85.55 by impounding 78 offending vehicles. The ASO earned revenue of Rs108.94 by impounding 79 non-duty paid vehicles and the same ASO collected revenue of Rs39.25 million by seizing foreign origin fabric in quantity of 58,569 yards.

Under the command of Shahid Jan, the ASO collected revenue of Rs7.51 million by seizing food grains in quantity of 65,879 kilogram, did revenue of Rs0.703 million by doing black tea weighed 2,433 kilogram, collected revenue of Rs1.014 million by seizing smuggled tyres and tubes in quantity of 366. The ASO also collected revenue of Rs2.765 million by seizing smuggled spare-parts weighed 10,402 kilogram.

The ASO Islamabad collected revenue of Rs0.043 million by confiscating 260 litres of smuggled mobil oil and made revenue of Rs4.486 million by seizing smuggled fake cigarettes. The ASO earned revenue of Rs32.56 million by confiscating smuggled electronics weighed 3,321. The same organization collected revenue of Rs0.823 million by seizing smuggled pirated CDs/DVDs in quantity of 41,400. The ASO earned revenue of Rs0.234 million and seized 287 smuggled blankets and made revenue of Rs0.403 million and seized various medicines and collected revenue of Rs0.071 million by seizing crockery.
