ASO earns Rs4m extra revenue during June

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization earned Rs4 million extra revenue during the month of June of  Fiscal Year 2017-18.

Assistant Collector Majid Hussain Gaad while talking with Customs Today said that ASO showed satisfactory performance against tax evaders and smugglers. He added that ASO earned Rs28.85 million during month of June FY17-18 against earning of Rs24.75 million during same corresponding period.

He said that ASO conducted 21 seizures of goods and non-duty paid (NDP) vehicles in June FY17-18. He said that ASO seized goods worth of Rs12.25 million during June FY17-18 while it seized Rs4.31 million worth goods during same corresponding period of last FY 2016-17.

Gaad said that ASO seized 4 number of NDP/tempered vehicles worth of Rs.13.00 million during June FY17-18 while it was seized same quantity of NDP vehicles worth of Rs10.24 million during same corresponding period.

He said that ASO also impounded three offending vehicles worth Rs.3.6 million during June FY17-18 while ASO Islamabad seized nine offending vehicles worth Rs.10.20 million during the same corresponding period June FY16-17.

He said that under instruction and guidance of Collector Zulifaqar Ali Chaudhry, ASO is showing outstanding performance against owners of of non-duty paid vehicles and goods. He said that during last month ASO seized of charas.  Majid Gaad said that all squads of ASO are performing well and taking all possible measures against the smugglers and tax evaders.
