Faisalabad ASO seizes 22,800 yards of smuggled printed art silk cloth

FAISALABAD:  The Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has seized foreign origin printed art silk cloth measuring 22,800 yards.

According to details, credible information was conveyed to the Faisalabad Anti-Smuggling Organisation regarding smuggling of foreign origin cloth. After receiving the tip, the authorities constituted a raiding team comprising Zahid Bukhari (superintendent), Safder Ali and Mehmood Ahmad (inspectors) and  Muhammad Naeem, Mohammad Salam, Atta Muhammad, Hafiz Nasser and Liaqat Ali (sepoys).

The party conducted a successful raid on M/s Younas & Brothers near Lal Mills Chowk (Bagh Wali Mill) Faisalabad and seized foreign origin cloth weighing 980 kilogrammes. When the raiding team asked accused Mohammad Younas to produce legal documents regarding import of the above said cloth, he failed to do so.

After his failure, the ASO seized the cloth and registered a case against the accused, while further investigations are in progress.
