ASO Hyderabad seizes 15,000 liters of smuggled Iranian oil, diesel

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) Hyderabad has seized Iranian oil and HSD diesel of 15,000 liters during a raid on Hyderabad Bye-pass.

According to details, Additional Collector MCC Hyderabad Omer Shafique received information regarding the smuggling of Iranian oil and HSD diesel. After receiving the information, the additional collector formed a raiding team comprising Deputy Superintendent Sikander Akbar Panhwar, Seizing Officer, Khair Muhammad Pathan, Inspector Momin Shah, Muhammad Ali Johar and Mushtaque Ali Lakho.

The raiding team intercepted an oil tanker bearing registration No. Z6074 near Hatri area police station and seized 15,000 liters of smuggled Iranian oil. The oil and HSD diesel was seized under customs Act 1969.

The raiding team asked the driver to produce legal documents regarding import of Iranian oil but he failed to produce the same.

After their failure the raiding team seized the Iranian oil and HSD diesel whose market value is Rs 5,00,000 involving duty and taxes of Rs 3,79,800. Further investigations are still progress.
