ASO Hyderabad seizes foreign origin cigarettes worth Rs 480,000

HYDERABAD:  The Anti-Smuggling Orgaisation team, following the instructions of Collector Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad Dr Ahmed Mujtaba Memon, conducted different raids in the region to curb smuggling.

A team of customs Hyderabad ASO, under the supervision of additional collector Omer Shafique, has seized smuggled foreign origin pine light cigarette worth Rs 480,000 during a operation. The ASO team raided Shalimar Express in Hyderabad railway station and seized smuggled pine light cigarette which were allegedly being smuggled from Rohari to Hyderabad.

The 24 seized cartons of  pine light cigarette valued at Rs 4,80,000 involving duty /taxes amounting to Rs. 3,53,000.

Officials told Customs Today that a seizure report has been prepared and foreign origin cartons of pine light cigarette already deposited to the State Ware House in Hyderabad.

The ASO team comprising inspector Waqar Ahmed Baig inspector Shafi Mohammad Jamali inspector Mushtaq Ali Lakho which took part in the operation.
