ASO Hyderabad seizes items worth Rs 3.7 million during crackdown

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Anti-smuggling Organization seized foreign origin goods worth Rs 3.7 million during an operation. The seized items also consists income tax amounting to Rs 2.8 million.

According to details, Model Customs Collectorates Hyderabad received a credible information regarding smuggling of valuables items. Soon after receiving the tip, Dr Ahmed Mujtaba Memon constituted a raiding team comprising Deputy Superintendent Sikander Akbar Panhwar, seizing officer Khair Mohammad Phatan, Inspector Monin Shah, Mushaq Ali Lakho, and other staff .

The team intercepted Toyota Land Cruiser jeep bearing registration No. B-3149 on the suspicion of smuggling. During checking raiding party seizes shampoo, rani juice, cartons, foreign origin bicycles, Panasonic electronic equipments and other items. The raiding team asked them to produce legal documents regarding import of above said items upon their failure raiding party seizes the items.  Further investigations are in progress.
