ASO impounds non-customs paid Kato crane worth Rs2.5m

MULTAN: Anti-Smuggling Organization of Customs Preventive has impounded a non-customs paid foreign origin Kato crane worth Rs2.5 million.

According to details, Multan Customs Preventive received credible information that non-customs paid construction machinery moving on the roads in Multan city. Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization formed a special team to take strict action against non-customs paid vehicles. Multan Customs started checking of the vehicles and goods to prevent smuggling from the various route.

During searching of smuggled goods in the surrounding areas of Multan, Anti-Smuggling Organization intercepted the suspected non -customs paid Kato crane near Sher Shah. Intercepted Kato crane was displaying registration number LES-15-9449.

Multan Customs team asked the crane driver to produce legal documents to justify its legal possession but driver produces irrelevant documents. The Customs staff detained the said Kato Crane after its verification from vehicles Registration department and shifted said crane in the State Ware House of Multan Customs House.

Anti-Smuggling Organization has framed seizure report against the non-customs paid Kato Crane in their action. The value of seized Hino Crane is approximately Rs.2.5 million. Further Investigations are still under way.
