ASO impounds non-duty paid Honda car during routine checking

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has impounded a Honda hybrid car worth Rs 30,000,000, involving customs duty and taxes of Rs 2,650,000 in city.

According to sources, Collector Muhammad Sadiq received secret information that some non duty paid vehicles are plying on the roads. He formed a special ASO team to check these vehicles. The ASO team intercepted the car bearing registration no: AET-489 model 2014 in the jurisdiction area of Faisalabad near P-354 Peoples Colony No 1.

The ASO team was comprising Superintendent Tanveer Raza Naqvi, Inspector Faizi Raza Munir Ahmed, Hafiz Muhammad Waqas, Shah Nawaz, Sepoy Liaqat Ali, Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Ashraf, Abdul Sattar, Muhammad Anwar and Muhammad Yasin.

The ASO team asked the owner of vehicle who was identified as Azam Waheed son of Waheeduz Zaman to produce any evidence regarding legal import of vehicle but he remained failed to show any legal documents.  After his failure ASO team seized the smuggled vehicle and submitted a report in the Adjudication Department for further proceedings.
