ASO impounds non-duty paid Toyota Surf from Vehari

MULTAN: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) impounded a non-duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser of worth Rs.3.5 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization team received credible information that a non-duty paid vehicle was parked in the Ghalla Mandi Vehari. After receiving said information, Anti-smuggling Organization vehicle branch raided the Ghalla Mandi Vehari and took the parked vehicle into their custody.

The Anti-smuggling Organization team inquired about the non-customs paid Toyota Land Cruiser having registration number TX-YU-021 of model 2001 for possession but no one claimed the ownership of said vehicle. Customs team also called police at the time of detaining vehicle to avoid any undesirable situation in the Ghalla Mandi.

Multan Customs team found that Toyota Land Cruiser was not registered with vehicle registration department during their verification process and then they decided to seize said vehicle on the basis of non-duty paid.

Multan Customs has seized said vehicle under Customs act 1969 and further investigation are still under process.
