ASO impounds smuggled goods & vehicles valued Rs308.353m during nine months & 20 days

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad impounded various smuggled goods and offending vehicles (vehicles used for carrying smuggled goods) worth Rs308.353million during nine months and 20 days (1st of July to 20th April) of Financial Year 2016-17.
According to Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad, the ASO impounded 124 offending vehicles worth Rs128.45million whereas it impounded 82 NDP vehicles worth Rs146.55million during above said period. The ASO seized 79,947 yards of foreign origin fabric worth Rs51.82million.
During July to 20th of April, the ASO Islamabad seized 125,530 kg of food grain worth Rs18.026million, 8,931 kg tea valued Rs2.784million, 1,073 different types of tyres and tubes worth Rs3.266million and 15,115 kilogram of auto parts worth Rs4.200million.
During above said period, the ASO seized 13,238 cartons of fake foreign origin cigarettes worth Rs8.467million while ASO seized 7,385 smuggled electronic goods worth Rs47.951million, 25 carpets worth Rs0.043million, miscellaneous medicines worth Rs0. 516,970million, pirated CD worth Rs2.1,300million, 915 crockery worth Rs0.084million and the ASO seized 307 smuggled blankets worth Rs0.284million whereas the ASO seized miscellaneous smuggled goods worth Rs22.060million during the 1st July to 20th April 2016-17.
