ASO impounds vehicles & goods valued Rs257.212m during eight months

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization Islamabad impounded non-duty paid vehicles and various kinds of smuggled goods worth Rs257.212million during eight months (July to February FY16-17).

According to Assistant Collector Preventive Majid Hussain Gaad, the ASO’s car cell impounded 107 offending vehicles loaded with smuggled goods valued Rs115.000million whereas it impounded 66 NDP vehicles worth Rs115.367million.

The ASO seized 73,661 yards cloths priced Rs48.833million whereas it confiscated 113137 kilograms of food grains valued Rs16.27million whereas the ASO seized black tea weighed 7753 kilogram valued Rs2.37million.

During above said period, the ASO confiscated 878 smuggled tyres and tubes worth Rs2.55million whereas it seized Alloy Rims valued Rs0.21million while the ASO seized 12378 auto-parts valued Rs3.85million.

During said period the ASO seized 260 liter of mobil oil worth Rs0.043million whereas it did 11139 cartons of smuggled cigarettes worth Rs7.417million while the ASO seized 5889 electronic goods worth Rs36.68million.

During said period the ASO seized 25 smuggled carpets priced Rs0.043million whereas it seized 179400 pirated CD/DVDs worth Rs2.130million whereas ASO seized 332 blankets worth Rs0.331million. The ASO seized various types of medicines worth Rs0.403million and it also seized different types of crockery worth Rs0.071million besides confiscating various kinds of miscellaneous smuggled goods worth Rs20.79million.
