ASO impounds vehicles & goods valued Rs33.73m during March

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Squad Islamabad seized six Non-Duty-Paid (NDP), four offending vehicles (vehicles used for carrying smuggled goods) and various kinds of smuggled goods valued Rs33.73million during the month of March Financial Year 2016-17.
According to details told by Majid Hussain Gaad, Assistant Collector Anti-Smuggling Organization of Model Customs Collectorate of Islamabad, that during the month of March FY16-17, the ASO seized four offending vehicles worth Rs3.20million whereas it seized different NDP vehicles including Toyota Hiace, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Hiace Van, Toyota Costar, RX7 sports car and Corolla car. The total value of the seized NDP vehicles was estimated Rs21.2million.
During above said period, the ASO seized miscellaneous smuggled goods worth Rs1.38million while the ASO seized 107 auto-parts valued Rs0.03million and the ASO seized 1999 cartons of fake smuggled cigarettes worth Rs1.04million.
During the month of March, the ASO seized 800 kilogram of black tea valued Rs0.26million and it also seized 41 smuggled tyres worth Rs0.137million whereas the ASO seized 38 kilogram medicines worth Rs0.134million. The ASO seized 11,853 kilogram of food grain worth Rs1.58million.
The ASO seized 3911 kilogram of foreign origin cloths valued Rs1.92million whereas it seized various electronic goods worth Rs0.83million and the ASO seized 30 kilogram of alloy rims worth Rs0.01million.
