ASO investigates into smuggling of 10,000 liter Iranian origin diesel

KARACHI: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has started investigation into the smuggled Iranian origin high speed diesel which was seized by the Ajmair Nagri Police.

According to sources, an ASO team tried to intercept a truck bearing registration no: TKJ-073, but its driver fled away. However, the Ajmair Nagri Police intercepted the same truck at Manghopir. During the search of the vehicle, 10,000 liter of Iranian origin diesel was recovered. The police handed over the truck and two suspects, driver Gul Najeem and conductor Aziz Gul, to the ASO.
