ASO Islamabad generates Rs25m of revenue by impounding vehicles & items

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization Islamabad collected Rs25million of revenue by taking into possession contraband goods and vehicles during 16th to 22nd of December Financial Year 2017-18.

According to details explained by Majid Hussain Gadd, Assistant Collector Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad, that, during above said period, the ASO showed satisfactory performance against the smuggling of non-duty-paid items.
Telling about the details of seized goods during above said period, he said the ASO took into possession four offending vehicles (carrying smuggling goods) worth Rs04million while it did three Non-Duty-Paid (NDP) vehicles valued at Rs19million.
Assistant Collector told CT that, during 16th to 22nd of December FY17-18, the ASO Islamabad seized 340 kilogram of smuggling tea priced at Rs0.1132million whereas it did 450 liters of smuggling mobil oil worth Rs0.27million while the ASO confiscated 50 packs of foreign origin fake cigarettes valued at Rs0.00277million. He added that the ASO impounded other various smuggling items priced at Rs0.559million.
