ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad impounded foreign origin fabric worth Rs2.00million along with an offending vehicle (Vehicle used for carrying smuggled goods). The smugglers tried to crush the ASO squad when they signalled them to stop.

According to details explained by Superintendent Zargham Dil while talking with Customs Today that, on a tip-off, the ASO squad, led by Superintendent Zargham and Rana Shakeel, set up a picket at Peshawar–Rawalpindi Road. When the squad signalled the possessors of smuggled goods to stop, they tried to smash the ASO squad.
The squad started chasing the smugglers for half an hour and at last the possessors of the vehicle abandoned the offending vehicle in jungle and ran away. The ASO squad impounded the offending vehicle Toyota car with registration No: PF-031 along with 200 kilogram of foreign origin fine quality fabric and carried it to the State Ware House.
Zargham Dil told CT that the ASO has registered an FIR against them and forwarded the case to the Investigation and Prosecution Department (I&P) for further investigation.
