ASO Islamabad seizes smuggled goods, vehicles worth Rs60.27m

ISLAMABAD: Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has collected Rs60.27million revenue in November Financial year (FY2016-17) through confiscated various items.

ASO Deputy Collector Shahid Jan told Customs Today that during the month of November the performance of preventive department was acceptable. During above said period the ASO seized various goods RsRs993,000.

As per the details he said that during said period ASO seized smuggled crockery worth Rs 71800, electronic items worth Rs1.86 million, foreign origin cigarettes Rs945,000, tires and tubes Rs227000, Food grains Rs1.245, foreign origin cloth amounting Rs12.083 million.

He added that during month of November FY 2016-17 ASO impounded 13 non-duty paid vehicles under the value of Rs26.037 million and impounded 16 offending vehicles worth Rs16.8 million.

He said that ASO under supervision of Collector Dr.Arslan working with sophisticated techniques as for as using modern vehicles and other modern facilities like laptops and latest vehicles etc. He said that during the first quarter of financial year 2016-17 the ASO perform efficiently and made heavy crackdown against smugglers.

Deputy Collector said that ASO seized miscellaneous goods under value of Rs10.297 million during first four months of financial year 2016-17.
