ASO Lahore seizes 120 drums of Iranian motor oil

LAHORE: Anti-smuggling Organisation (ASO) Lahore Preventive seized 120 drums of smuggled Iranian motor oil on Monday.

Official sources told Customs Today that the ASO, on the instructions of Collector Mukarram Jah Ansari raided a godown at China Scheme near Gujarpura. They added that the ASO team consisting of superintendents, deputy superintendents, inspectors Mumtaz Ajmal Mian, Saleem Akhtar, Sajad Bukhari and Shahid Bhatti seized the Iranian motor oil worth millions of rupees.

The raiding team asked the owners of the godown to produce clearance documents, however, they failed to do so.

The ASO sources said that investigation into the matter may reveal more stock of the Iranian smuggled oil. Initially, a case has been registered against the accused, the sources added.
