ASO Peshawar impounds two NDP & five offending vehicles during July 17 to 23

PESHAWAR: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Peshawar impounded two Non-Duty-Paid and five offending vehicles (Vehicles used for carrying smuggled goods) during 17th to 23rd of July Financial Year (FY) 2017-18 worth Rs7.8million. The said vehicles were impounded by Mobile Squad Mardan, Nowshera and Peshawar.

According to details given by Deputy Collector ASO Peshawar that, during above said period, the ASO Mobile Squad Mardan impounded two NDP vehicles named Toyota Corolla X, model 2006, valued at Rs1.8million and did Fielder car, model 2002, worth Rs1.5million.
Telling the details about offending vehicles, he said that, during 17 to 23 July FY17-18, the ASO impounded Mazda Truck worth Rs1.0million, Suzuki Pickup valued at Rs0.4million , Ford wagon priced at Rs0.8million, Pajero Jeep worth Rs0.8million and Honda Civic car valued at Rs1.5million.
Regarding the performance of the ASO Peshawar, he said the ASO is practically independent to carry out operations within its jurisdiction. The ASO collected handsome revenue by confiscating contraband items, Non-Duty-Paid (NDP) and offending vehicles during Financial Year FY2016-17.

He remarked that the offending vehicles play a main role in promoting smuggling activities in the region. He added that the ASO Peshawar always tried to discourage the non-tax-paid activities and encourage the legal business as ASO Peshawar impounded 721 vehicles during July to June FY16-17. He vowed that the ASO will continue its struggle against the smugglers and NDP vehicles possessors during the current Financial Year 2017-18 and make more and more seizures against the tax evaders.
