ISLAMABAD: Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has foiled a bid to smuggle 78 kgs of drugs near Gadani.
According to details, the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department received an information that an attempt of drugs smuggling could be made on which the department directed the ASO to tighten checking on the highway of Gadani area.
Meanwhile, the ASO team intercepted a truck bearing number TKA- 184 and during checking the staff recovered 45 kgs of hashish, five kgs of heroin and 28 kgs of opium from the secret parts of the truck. Meanwhile, the customs staff arrested the truck driver and its conductor on the spot. The market value of the drugs are Rs 4.7 million. A case has been registered against them while further investigation is underway.
