Smuggled goods, vitamin supplements recovered from godown of M/s Sheheen Chemists

ISLAMABAD: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization with coordination of local police seized high value smuggled goods, counterfeit food and vitamin supplements with M/s Sheheen Chemists stamps from a godown in Rawalpindi. thumbnail_IMG-20191123-WA0014 Talking with Customs Today, Assistant Collector Fahad Iqbal said that after instructions from Member Customs, Jawwad Agha and Chief Collector Customs Dr. Asif Jah, a special anti-smuggling team was constituted by Collector Seema Raza Bokhari and an operation was conducted in Rawalpindi in which a godown located at Murree Road was raided on 23 Nov 2019 with assistance from Rawalpindi Police. thumbnail_IMG-20191123-WA0015 He said that a huge quantity of high value smuggled and counterfeit goods impounded, including  food and vitamin supplements, and costly cosmetic items, as per the initial assessment. The value of the seized goods estimated in millions.

He added that it was a godown which supplied counterfeit items to different clients of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. He told that godown was sealed and further investigations in this regards were under process. FIR would be lodged soon.
