ASO seizes 500kg fabric, one offending vehicle

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized 500kg foreign origin fabric and one offending vehicle worth Rs 3.6 million.

Sources told Customs Today that the ASO superintendent received information that an offending vehicle (Corolla car) is coming from Peshawar having a huge quantity of smuggled fabric. On this, he formed a team to impound the offending vehicle along with foreign origin fabric. The ASO set up a picket on GT Road Rawalpindi-Peshawar near Borhan.

The ASO team stopped the car and asked the driver to provide relevant documents of the goods but he failed to provide any proof of loaded goods after that the ASO seized the fabric along with offending vehicle.

The value of seized fabric is Rs 2.625 million and the value of offending vehicle was mention in the seizer report as Rs 1 million.

The customs team who taken part in this seizer comprising Superintendent Nasir Barlas and Deputy Superintendent Rana Shakeel and other supporting staff, the ASO seized the goods and registered a case of smuggling against accused persons according to Customs laws.
