ASO seizes another illegal godown of skimmed milk near Railway Station

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized another skimmed milk worth millions of rupees at a godowns near Railways Station, official sources said.

Sources told Customs Today that the customs ASO after receiving a secret information constituted a team consisting Superintendent Mumtaz Ajmal Mian, Inspector Khalid Butt and others led by Assistant Collector Asim Awan and raided the gowdown near Do Moriya Pul near Railway Station.

 The customs authorities said that the skimmed milk was dumped in the godown was belonged to a trader of Akbari market, namely Nasir Khan . The sources added that the trader used to supply the Iranian originated skimmed milk to the ice cream outlets at The Mall.  The sources further reported that the authorities have impounded the milk and seized in the name of state. A case has been registered and further investigations are under way.

Earlier, the Collectortae of Customs Lahore Anti-Smuggling Organization team has seized mega Rs 63 million non-customs paid dry milk from a godown in a rice mill near Muridkay while sample of the milk have been sent to forensic laboratory to know the harmful impact of the milk on human health if there is any. .

The customs ASO observed unusual movements for about one month and after being fully satisfied, the ASO team raided the godown and recovered 9300 bags of non-customs paid dry milk.
