ASO seizes computer accessories, 100 gallons of petrol

KARACHI: Modal Customs Collectorate Anti Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has seized computer accessories and 100 gallons of petrol during two successful raids.

Hyderabad Collector Agha Shahid Majeed received information that a huge quantity of computer accessories, including motherboard, hard disk, RAM and monitors, were smuggled in the area of Lateef Abad. Consequently, he sought the Additional Collector Umar Shafiq and told him about the given information. Additional Collector formed a team under his own supervision and established a check-point in the way of Lateef Abad. During the checking of vehicles the team intercepted a suspicious truck. While the searching of the truck they recovered 200 motherboards, 400 hard disk, more than 1000 two GB RAM and 50 computers. The team seized all electronics items and arrested the driver. The approximately amount of intercepted items is more than 1 million.

The customs officials raided at said place and recovered 100 gallons of petrol each gallon has the capacity of 50 liters. The team seized the petrol and arrested the driver who was involved in smuggling.
