ASO seizes contraband items worth Rs 12.5m in first half of September

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Peshawar, has seized different smuggled items during half month of September 2016-17 worth Rs 11.3 million and impounded two offending vehicles worth of Rs 1.2 million.

Deputy Collector Muhammad Amin told Customs Today that during the first 15 days of September, the mobile squad no 1 and 2 made 10 big seizers of smuggled goods and impounded two offending vehicles.

He said that during the first raid, the ASO seized 940 yard fabric worth Rs 352,500. In the second raid, it seized 537 yard fabrics worth Rs 312450 and during the third raid the ASO seized auto parts worth Rs 2.4 million. In forth raid, it seized auto parts worth R s765,000.

The Deputy Collector said that during fifth raid the ASO also seized auto parts worth Rs1.46 million and in sixth raid it seized miscellaneous items under value of Rs 994,500.

He added that during seventh raid the ASO seized miscellaneous goods under value of Rs 1.74 million again in eighth raid ASO seized different smuggled items under value of Rs 806,400, the ASO made ninth raid and seized milk powder in quantity of 175 kg under value of Rs 131,250, in its tenth raid ASO seized electronic items under value of Rs 1,998,750.
