ASO seizes firecrackers

MULTAN: The Anti-Smuggling Organisation has seized the imported firecrackers during a special raid.

The ASO has successfully seized 10,800 packets of China made firecrackers during an operation on a tip-off.

The operation was conducted in Dera Ghazi Khan.

Superintendent ASO Tanvir Ahmad Malik along with Inspector Abdus Samad and Inspector Asghar took action against the imported stock stored in a warehouse.

The worth of firecrackers was almost Rs 700,000. The owner failed to provide import documents.

The sale of the firecrackers is also banned due to law in order situation of the country.

According to Tanvir Ahmad Malik, the supply of the explosives or weapons is banned without the permission of the government and the firecrackers were also banned.

He said that the action was taken in the larger interest of public. Investigation against the smuggled goods and accused was underway.
