ASO seizes foreign origin dyed woven fabric

FAISALABAD: The Anti- Smuggling Organization ( ASO)  Faisalabad has seized foreign origin dyed woven light weight fabric cloth in Faisalabad.

Sources told Customs Today that Assistant Collector MCC Faisalabad  Muhammad Asim Awan received a credible information regarding the smuggling of dyed woven fabric.

After receiving information, Assistant Collector immediately formed a raiding team comprising  Zahid Bukhari (superintendent),  Mehmood Ahmad Doger (inspector), Muhammad Naeem, Hafiz Nisar Ahmad, and Asrar Ahmad (sepoy’s ).

The raiding team intercepted a suzuki Bolan bearing registration No. FDA- 12-903 near Gatwala and seized 180 kilograms (4030 yards) of dyed woven light fabric cloth. The market value of cloth is Rs 60,4500/-.

The ASO team asked driver of the vehicle Waseem Haider son of Muhammad Akram  who is resident of Chak No. 73/ JB, Jhapal, Faisalabad to produce legal documents regarding possession of above said cloth, but he failed to do so.

After his failure ASO team seized the cloth and registered a case against the accused. Further proceedings are still underway till the filing of this report.
