ASO seizes illegal medicines, cell phones worth Rs 1.7m

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Orgainsation (ASO) while busting a smuggling attempt has seized illegal imported medicines and 670 sets of mobile phones worth Rs 1.786 million.

Talking to Customs Today, Islamabad Customs Collector Dr. Arslan Subuctagaen told that Mazda vehicle was intercepted at entry point of capital city, Rawat and checked completely. The checking led to the recovery more than 16,000 tablets and capsules of smuggled Indian illegal drugs and 670 mobile sets.

The illegal consignment was coming from Lahore to Islamabad when the anti smuggling cell abducted the vehicle and arrested the driver. The officials have lodged FIR against the accused person, while further investigation is underway.

The ASO seized 12,000 tablets and capsules of penegra sildnafil, 450 tablets of duraga, 100 sildnafil citrate, and 2250 tablets of sildnafil citrate, 125 tablets of black cobra and others, besides confiscating 97 smart phones and 573 sets of Nokia Company.
