ASO seizes Indian origin black tea, cloth

SIALKOT:  The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has confiscated smuggled Indian origin black tea and cloth worth Rs 200,000 during a successful raid.

Reportedly, ASO Incharge and Deputy Collector Waheed Anwar Abro deputed Inspector Muhammad Mansha to check vehicle under an anti-smuggling campaign which was started by the order of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan. The team included Irfan, Shafique and others. The team started the checking of vehicles on Grand Trunk (GT) road. During the checking of vehicles the team intercepted a van bearing registration number MD-903-AJK-03 which was coming from Mirpur (AJK). During the search of the van the team recovered three bags of Indian origin black tea and some packets of Indian origin cloth.

The team asked driver Saeed about booking of said items he told that I don’t know about booking of items rather it was booked by van stand Manager. The team seized the said items worth Rs.200.000 and shifted in the compound of Model Customs House Sialkot. The team released the driver after proper interrogation. The said Inspector told Customs Today that the ASO has started Anti Smuggling Campaign amd the department is using all resources to curb smuggling and the fruitful results are observing day by day.
