ASO seizes Iranian tiles worth millions in Lahore

LAHORE: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has impounded three trucks loaded with Iranian ceramics tiles and a passenger bus loaded with smuggled items.

Official sources told Customs Today that on a tip-off the ASO team seized three Mazda truck loaded with Iranian tiles on the Canal Road Lahore. Sources said that the tiles were being transported illegally to a go-down in Township.

Meanwhile, the ASO impounded a passenger bus of Niazi Express containing allegedly smuggled stationery, auto-parts and other miscellaneous goods worth millions of rupees.

In the above-mentioned instances, the ASO teams confiscated the smuggled items and vehicles being used for transportation, as the owners failed to produce any legal documents regarding the lawful possession the items.

The ASO team consisting of Superintendent Mumtaz Ajmal Mian, Shahid Bhatti, Ijaz rasool, Khalid Butt and other officers conducted the operation against the smuggling.
