ASO seizes smuggled goods, non-duty paid Mazda near Mandra

ISLAMABAD: The anti-smuggling squad of the Customs collectorate has seized different kinds of smuggled goods and one non-duty paid mini Mazda bearing registration number JY-5904. The market value of the impounded vehicle is Rs 2.187 million. The ASO squad was led by Superintendent Preventive Zargam Dil and Deputy Superintendent Rana Shakeel

Deputy Collector Shahid Jan told Customs Today that anti-smuggling squad was on its routine patrolling at Rawalpindi-Peshawar GT road near Mandra, the squad stopped an unidentified  mini Mazda truck and asked the driver to provider the relevant documents of  vehicle and loaded goods.

The driver failed to provide the relevant documents to the customs staff, after that customs squad impounded the non-duty paid vehicle and other goods.The goods which which were seized includes drilling rod for rock drill foreign origin 2850kg in value of Rs 598500, metal pulley three belts foreign origin 500kg under value of Rs10,500, submersible pumps foreign origin 10 number value Rs10000.

Flexible pressure pipe with connector foreign origin value Rs39900, fuel pump part foreign origin 110 kg Rs 23100. Generator AVR foreign origin 198 pieces 60kg Rs 59400, drill belt for rock drilling foreign origin 530kg Rs111300. Demolition hammer 2850 width foreign origin 2 units Rs 30000, bit for demolition hammer foreign origin 30kg Rs 6300, bridge rectifier  foreign origin 1200 pieces Rs 36000, skimmed milk powder made in UK 250 kg Rs 65625.

Cabin brush for electrical machine 100 kg Rs10500, three phase bridge rectifier model-SOL 60-12 85kg Rs 5040, fuel pump for LTV  SAC band 11 bar 85kg Rs 22315, elbow for air compressor foreign origin 56 kg Rs 11760.

Con rod bush foreign origin 18 kg Rs4725, engine part YH20 foreign origin 36kg Rs 7560, piston for air compressor 40kg Rs 8400, pump parts (plates) foreign origin 100 kg Rs 21000, piston cylinder for air compressor 128 kg Rs36880. Ring set master cylinder 22 kg Rs 4620, flange foreign origin 20 kg Rs 4200, armature connector 90kg Rs18900, gasket foreign origin 35kg  Rs 3675. The customs team also impounded non-duty paid Mazda van which were being used for transportation of smuggled goods.

He said that smuggled goods have been seized under Customs Act 1969, the approximately value of seized goods is Rs 2.187 million. FIR has been lodged against the accused persons.
