ASO seizes smuggled items worth Rs 663,955 in seven days of April

FAISALABAD: The customs collectorate Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized smuggled items to the tune of Rs 663,955 in the first week of April 2016 and registered seven cases against smugglers.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Rizwan Khan formed different teams which checked various vehicles and recovered a huge quantity of smuggled cloth, food grains, tea, diesel, and others miscellaneous items.

Sources said that accused persons failed to produce any legal documents regarding possession of smuggled items. The Faisalabad Anti smuggling organization ( ASO ) team seized the articles and registered separate cases of smuggling against accused persons. ASO authorities forwarded cases to customs adjudication for further proceedings.
