ASO seizes used electric Hoist worth Rs3,00,000

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized non duty paid electric Hoist worth Rs3,00,000 involving duty and taxes amounting to Rs54,592 besides impounded Shahzore Hyundai worth Rs 7,00,000 under section which was being used for smuggling transportation.

As per details, Customs ASO acting upon information received through Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan, the team intercepted a Hyundai Shahzore of bearing registration no: GAL-9600 model 2000.

The officials while searching recovered 885 kilograms of foreign origin used electric Hoist no specification plate is available on the hoist. Theses items are being transported from Lahore to Faisalabad. After recovering the items staff asked the driver Nasir Mahmood son of Goray Khan to produce documents regarding the legal possession of the items but he remained fail to do so on which custom seized the items and also impounded the vehicle under Section 157 (2) of Customs Act, 1969.
