ASO sizes Rs 10m Iranian tiles, oil, plastic granules

LAHORE: MCC Lahore Anti-smuggling Organization (ASO) on Friday confiscated Rs 10 million non-customs paid Iranian tiles, oil and plastic granules.

Sources said that the anti-smuggling organization on the information of collector of customs Mukarram Jah raided a godown and seized Rs 50,000,00 Iranian tiles in a marble market near Icchra.

The sources added that the raid was supervised by the superintendent of customs Mumtaz Ajmal Mian and raids were conducted by Amjad Khan and other inspectors of ASO. The owner of the smuggled Iranian tiles was given a sufficient time to produce documents against the tile but he failed to do so.

Meanwhile, the ASO impounded a big quantity of plastic dana and Iranian oil worth Rs 50,000,00.

The sources said that the ASO on the information raided different place around Lahore including Ravi Bridge and seized Iranian 15 sacks and 30 drum of Mobil oil. The ASO has registered case and started further investigation in this regard.
