Assistant director inspects check-posts in Kamoke, Rahwali and Wazirabad

SIALKOT: Itrat Hussian, the Assistant Director of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Gujranwala Region, has inspected check-posts in Kamoke, Rahwali and Wazirabad. Superintendent Tariq Rafique, Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Sawar, Inspectors Syed Majid Raza and Nasar Ullah were also accompanied him during the checking.

The Assistant director reviewed the performance of the field staff at the check-posts and he also checked documents of some vehicles. During the inspection, he instructed the drivers to keep complete documents of their vehicles with them.

He said that director general of department has already instructed that the all field staff make assure best performance to curb smuggling rather must impound non-duty paid vehicles. He also checked some shops of cigarettes selling and directed shopkeepers if they will sell smuggled foreign cigarettes then the department will not spare them.

He also arranged a meeting with staff of department and informed that all staff of department should start speedy operation against smugglers rather the officers and officials should take interest to tighten noose around the smugglers. He said that the smuggling has been decreased in the Gujranwala Region by the struggle of officials of the department and it is good omen for department to curb smuggling. He said that the smugglers are not patriot rather they are real enemy of the country and all officials should try to eradicate these smugglers from the country.
