OTTAWA: The new Aston Martin DB9 GT will headline a number of new Aston’s set to be unveiled at this year’s Pebble Beach Automotive Week. Powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine, the new-for-2016 DB9 GT will be the most powerful rendition to date, with 540bhp being pumped out of the next-generation supercar.

The DB9 GT will make its global debut alongside the DBX concept and Lagonda Taraf, as part of the marque’s Second Century display, featuring a collection of cars present to celebrate Aston Martin’s 102-year history.

The DBX was recently confirmed for production following its own global debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, confirming Aston Martin’s expansion into the luxury GT crossover market as a result.

Marking a first appearance in the North American market, the new Lagonda Taraf saloon draws inspiration from the highly sought-after William Towns-designed Lagonda of 1976. Despite this, the new-Lagonda will feature supercar engineering as used on most Aston Martin’s of late, including carbon fibre paneling.

The car will be built by the same team that produced the One-77 supercars at Aston’s manufacturing facility in Gaydon, Warwickshire.

Also on display will be the 800-plus bhp Vulcan, which will be making an appearance in Monterey amidst a testing programme aimed at getting the track-only car ready for sale in 2016. The Vulcan is primed to set customers back £1.8m.

The Pebble Beach Automotive week starts on August 13.
