Asus reports revenue down 2% from 2014

WASHINGTON: Asus reported revenues of TWD 111 billion for the third quarter, down 2 percent from a year earlier. Operating profit fell 6 percent to TWD 5.0 billion, and net profit declined 27 percent to TWD 4.2 billion, hurt by foreign exchange losses. PC shipments improved to 5.3 million units in the quarter from 4.8 million in Q2, and phone shipments rose to 7.1 million from 6.0 million in the previous quarter. Both figures were slightly below the company’s targets.

Asus expects a stronger Q4, with PC shipments of 5.8 million and phone shipments of 9.0 million. The company said it aims to grow mobile shipments 35 percent in 2016 to over 36 million units, and PC shipments should increase 5-10 percent to 22-24 million units.
