ATIR hears various tax matters during second week of March

ISLAMABAD: The Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue held the hearing of tax matters during second week of March, including some remanded back by the Islamabad High Court in recent months.

ATIR Account Member Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Bhatti heard the case filed by M/s Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company, and M/s Wi-Tribe Pakistan Limited. They had contested show cause notices issued to them by the field offices of the Federal Board of Revenue.

Through the reference, M/s WiTribe Pakistan had named chief commissioner Inland Revenue, LTU, assistant commissioner Inland Revenue Withholding, LTU, commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals), LTU, and Federation of Pakistan through the chairman of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) as respondent in the case.

The petitioner had prayed the court that the operation of the impugned notices issued by the tax authority may kindly be suspended till the decision of appeal pending before the LTU.
